How buying works
- Download LabNote and use it. The 7 days start at the first launch.
- Sign in with your email, in the app or on the account page. LabNote emails you a 6-digit code, so there is no password.
- Buy the licence. Paddle takes the payment, and your licence is tied to the email you signed in with.
- Your licence key is emailed to you and shown, masked, on the account page. In LabNote choose I’ve bought, check again, or wait for LabNote’s next daily check, and the PC turns active.
Paddle.com is the merchant of record for LabNote orders. It takes your payment, works out and collects any sales tax or VAT, and sends the invoice. See the refund page and the terms.

About buying
What happens when my updates end?
LabNote keeps working. New versions released after the date your updates end need an updates renewal. Versions released before that date keep working, and you can still download them.
Do I need an account to try it?
No. The 7-day trial needs no account. You sign in with your email only when you want to activate a licence.
How many PCs can I use?
Up to 2 PCs per licence, for example a lab PC and a laptop. You can remove a PC on the account page or in the app and use the slot on another PC. You can remove up to 3 PCs in any 30 days.
What if I lose my licence key?
You do not need it to use LabNote: signing in with the email you bought with activates the PC. The key was emailed to you when you bought, and the account page shows its last four characters. If you cannot find either, write to [email protected].
Does LabNote need the internet?
Recording experiments does not. LabNote contacts the licence server to start the trial and about once a day to check your licence, and it keeps working for up to 30 days if it cannot reach the server. See the privacy page for exactly what it sends.
